Subject: COVID-19 Protocols at the Mexico MTC 

Dear Sister Griffin, 

The Missionary Department has recently approved adjustments to COVID protocols related to MTC training. The following changes are being applied at the Mexico MTC. Changes will be made at other MTCs as COVID circumstances and local government restrictions allow. Vaccinations While we continue to encourage the COVID-19 vaccination, effective immediately, both vaccinated and unvaccinated missionaries will now be able to attend on-site training at the Mexico MTC. 

However, the COVID vaccination continues to be required for missionaries from the US and Canada to attend the Mexico MTC. Unvaccinated missionaries from the U.S. and Canada will now receive the on-site portion of their training at the Provo MTC. All missionaries beginning the at-home portion of training on February 28th or later should plan to complete their training on-site after their at-home experience. 

You should plan to arrive at your MTC on Wednesday, May 11, 2022. Testing A COVID test is no longer required prior to arriving at the MTC unless you have received testing instructions from Church Travel related to flying to the MTC. If you have cold or flu-like symptoms within a few days prior to traveling to the Mexico MTC, please plan to receive a PCR COVID-19 test before traveling. If the test is positive, please contact Griselda Sanchez at sanchezgr@churchofjesuschrist.org or 011-52 55 4125-4252. 

If the test is negative and you feel healthy enough to do so, plan to come to the MTC as scheduled. Masks Mask requirements are changing at each MTC based on local COVID circumstances and Area Presidency direction. 

However, masks continue to be required in temples. Please bring a sufficient supply of masks for use in the temple and as directed at your MTC. Please remember that these changes apply to MTC training only. You may still be required to wear masks, be tested, and/or be vaccinated depending on travel requirements or requirements for your assigned mission.
