Me and my chilenita
 Hi,

A quick little run down of this week:

We climbed a mountain: I complained the whole time but I made it!! Afterwards we got sushi and they said the sushi would be 20 minutes, but it took an hour and a half to arrive, we had all just climbed a mountain and were super hungry, so when it arrived a brief prayer was said, and then... silence. For 10 minutes. And then the sushi was gone, just like that! 160 pieces with 8 people haha. 10/10 would sushi again

Mateo: this 17 year old that we're teaching who is possibly only interested in a 13 year old from our ward instead of the gospel...but we had a super powerful lesson with him on Tuesday, and he didn't come to Church but only because of an emergency. He could get baptized this week but he doesn't want to. He won't tell us why.

Exchanges! First with Hermana Maureira. She's new but super capable. I felt a little like she was trying to train me. It was a day relatively full of rejection, but hey some days are like that, right?

On Friday I had exchanges with one of my favorite people, a chilena that I lived with in Antofagasta who is just a ball of energy!! We had a day full of miracles in her sector instead of mine! They have a really small ward because everyone is inactive, so we were visiting inactive members and we found one who is golden. She said she's been feeling the need to go back to church and us passing by was like an answer to her prayers. She's always been like a mom to sister missionaries but not so much to the elders, so now with sister missionaries she's excited to get involved in the work!!
She said she was gonna go write about us in her journal which just kinda made my day.
Later we made cookies and churrascas and it was so cute, I was making cookie dough balls and she was like, don't you need to form them into cookie shapes? And I was like, no? Have you never made cookies before?
And YOU GUYS, she's NEVER made cookies before!!!!!!! So we made cookies and they turned out delicious! And she practiced her English and I helped her. It was awesome! And we sang songs together-the handful that I know in Spanish and the handful that she knows in English! I love that hermana so much!

Yamin: we found a new amiga this week (well several but this ones worth writing)! We were knocking doors in the apartments again and there was this one apartment that had music SUPER loud, but like good music! Salsa music with saxophones and trumpets and stuff. Loved it, 10/10 music! Anyways, so she totally couldn't hear us, right, because the music was SO loud you guys hahahaha, so we went and knocked another door, but I was like no hermana we have to go back to the house with the music, so we knocked as loud as we could, but she wasn't answering, so we were kinda sad, but then the music stopped, I think because she was changing it, and so we knocked super loud right in that 5 second space, and she answered the door!!! And invited us in!!! And gave us coca cola!!!! And so we chatted for a bit and then we invited ourselves over again for later that week, and overall we just love her! Lots! She's from Maracaibo, Venezuela, and she loves to cook, and of course she loves good music. I think we will be very good friends :)

Jessica: alright so we've been visiting her for like a month, and from the first day I met her I felt like she was super elect. She's Chilean, and doesn't have much of a religious background, and the first time we went over we talked about a ton of things because she had a ton of questions. Since that day we hadn't been able to really contact her because we didn't have her number, and EVERY time we went over, her husband answered the door. He didn't come off as very interested, and we just had bad timing every time. But on Saturday night we were there to visit her neighbor, but her neighbor wasn't there, and man we had had so many rejections that day, so we were feeling pretty tired and it was like 9pm so we could've just called it quits and went home (it's like a 30 min walk, and we could've done a couple calls when we got home to work all the way until 9:45pm), but we felt that we needed to go knock her door. So we knocked it, aaaand... it's her!!! And she said, ohhh I was already laying down to go to sleep, but just give me one second I'm gonna put on a sweater, so she puts on a sweater and invites us in and we talk to her for like 40 minutes and again she had sooo many questions and so many things she desired to know. We taught the Restoration and there was this magical moment when were talking about the first vision, where I could tell from her breathing and from the way she looked at us that she was feeling the spirit. And then when we talked to her about the spirit, I could tell in her eyes that something kind of clicked in her brain. We arrived home at just after 10pm that night, but it was 100% worth it. She missed her alarm on Sunday and couldn't come, but you could tell she wanted to. We're seeing her again later this week, and we're gonna have pizza!!

An inspirational thought:
Did you know that you can do anything?
Literally anything. Do you want to learn a foreign language and go to a hard-to-get-into school and develop a better life for yourself? Okay, then do it. Do you want to explore Europe or South America or something? Okay, then do it.
With a cat (had allergies for the rest
of the day but that cat was purring
so much it was adorable you guys,
also that same little old lady who
owned that cat gave us
 like 6 tiny oranges each
aand I was like there's
no way I'm gonna eat al
l of these but then I did,
so I guess anything is possible)

If we have a dream, and we want that dream to come true, we just have to break that dream into goals, and make plans to accomplish those goals, and follow through with those plans. Step by step and little by little your dream will become a reality. Maybe it won't be today or tomorrow, maybe it'll take time, and it'll definitely take work, but YOU can make your dreams happen. I've been thinking a LOT this week about home and the future, as much as I try not to, and one of my dreams and goals is to excel and flourish in school. Before my mission I was struggling to do so at BYU, I think because I was new at it and it didn't come as easily as high school

did, but if there's one thing that I've learned in the mission is that I can do hard things! And I can make things happen! And I'm capable of so much more than what even I can picture! And that those hard things become barely an inconvenience when I rely on God for my strength.
As铆 que, as铆 ser谩! I will rely on Him! And I will make my dreams happen, and I will be happy in doing so.

Love you all, SO MUCH!!
