GRAY HAIR!!

This week we had a crazy day on Tuesday because the hermana leaders from antofa went 10 hours in a bus to come do exchanges with us. And then that night MISSED THEIR BUS BACK TO ANTOFA, and there wasn't another bus until the next night, so they stayed another day here and worked with us more. It was good! We helped this one lady look for her dog, and found a bunch of new people to teach. (We found 17 new people this week, which broke the record for this area in the last year!!!) But yeah that was basically Tuesday and Wednesday, splits with the hermana leaders. It's kinda funny because now there's people who are like "my friends" that I found with one of the hermana leaders, and "her friends" that she found with the hermana leaders. On Tuesday I made a bunch of Christmas shaped cookies, because a member in our ward asked me to so she could bring them to be decorated by the disabled adults that she works with (she brought me ingredients, I just made the cookies and frosting!!) The plan was originally that we could go help them decorate, but she ended up doing it Wednesday during our district meeting, so we couldn't. But this week we're gonna go play water guns with them and the elders from our branch, so that'll be fun

Thursday like everything fell through so we were finding for most of the day. It was exhausting and it's SO HOT outside.
Also, I discovered many MANY ants in my bathroom... anyone know how to get rid of them??

Friday we went out to this part of our sector that's like a 45 minute walk up a hill in the middle of the deserty part of Vallenar, and it was so miserable to walk up there... it was so hot and we didn't realize it was SO far, the whole time we were like, ok there's no way this is worth it! And we couldn't even contact on the way because there was NO ONE around. But we finally got to the top of the hill and it was gorgeous
we could see all of Vallenar from there... and then we looked for the less active member we wanted to contact... and she answered, and told us she was sooo not interested
but then we knocked the next door over, and found an inactive member who's records we don't even have!!! And so we planned a day to come back to visit with her.... and then we knocked the next door over, and found a mom and daughter who are super interested!!! And we planned to come back on the same day we're gonna visit the other person, so we only have to make that trip up the hill one time next week.

Saturday we had an activity for relief society, yw and primary girls in the stake (well, district) and it was really good. They talked about all the women of worth from the scriptures and church history. The activity started late and we had a lesson to go to, so we didn't get to stay for the food, but the elders came in shortly after we left, and were telling everyone how they want to be relief society sisters now because the activity was awesome (and there was a lot of good food lol). It was a really well put together activity, and it was decorated really nicely and everything. Every organization from all the branches shared a message about a different woman and her qualities and how we can learn from her. Some of them had costumes or songs or dances or posters.
Sunday we had a friend come to church named Maite, and she's SO COOL!! We found her in exchanges, she's 14, and it's been sooo cool to teach her. She said her dad told her that we were gonna indoctrinate her or something, and she was really excited to tell him that she literally just asked us a million questions and we answered them. She went to yw and LOVED it, and a guy from our bishopric is apparently her martial arts teacher, and one of the yw leaders is a school counselor or something like that in her high school. So yeah, we were super excited to help her, and she legit reminds me of marlee, but like in Spanish, and without red hair. So basically, love her.
In the afternoon we had a bunch of lessons that didn't fall through (WOO!) And in one of them, we were teaching a lesson to this family, and the little boy (6years old) was giggling to whole time because he's never met anyone from the United States, so then he asked me to say something in English and I said something like "I love teaching you guys and I hope that what I teach makes sense!!" And then we continued on with the lesson, and after I explained something (in spanish), the little boy was like "HEY, now you need to speak in Spanish!!!" And I was just like
ok hna GarcΓa, you explain it, they can't understand my gringo accent

Not tooooo long of a letter this week

Con mucho cariΓ±o!! Love you all!!
