10/12/23 My plan

hiiii happy Thursday, I finished MyPlan today which is this program that makes you put goals and plans for every aspect of your life.

this is kind of what I have in mind as a plan for my life, although things are always changing, so possibly I'll change my mind and plans with this as well 😅

hope you're having a great week!! I got my bus ticket and I'll be traveling to antofagasta all day on Tuesday, interview with Presidente on Wednesday, p day on Thursday, and airplane time on Friday 😮 tomorrow I'll be in exchanges and so I really only have 3 days of missionary life left (saturday, Sunday, Monday)🥹🫠 can't decide if I'm happy or sad! but anyways, that's the recent news!

also I registered for classes but I have to wait for my interview with president for them to go through, and yeah I think besides that everything is good! also, Swedish fish don't exist in Chile, bryce was asking me what are things I haven't eaten in a year and a half that I miss and I forgot to include Swedish fish on the list 😆😆

love youuuu

MY PLAN

Name: Griffin, Katelyn Rebecca

LEARNING EXPERIENCE: REMEMBER AND BECOME

What are the most important spiritual truths the Lord has taught you?

God hears and answers our prayers. He is listening when we talk with Him and

He desires that we trust Him enough to depend on Him and patiently await His

answers. When we put in extra efforts to make these prayers personal and

special, He blesses us even more and as we grow our "prayer muscles" we can

feel the Spirit to a greater degree.

The race is against sin, not against each other. We don't need to compare our

accomplishments with those of the people around us and we don't need to feel

bad about how our fruits compare with others' fruits. We just need to leave the

house every day and do everything we can to help God's children.

The Book of Mormon is true. It was improbable that someone uneducated and

young as Joseph Smith was to be able to translate or write something so

gloriously perfect and detailed. The Lord used him as an instrument to bring

forth His gospel in these latter days, and through the faith of Joseph Smith, the

Lord accomplished the impossible.

What Christlike attributes has the Lord helped you develop?

I think first and foremost I have learned to labor diligently and keep going even

if I'm tired or upset or frustrated or feeling lazy. He has helped me learn the

value of each and every moment and the importance of using time wisely,

because time really does go by sooo quickly!!

Virtue: I believe in the mission, little by little I've been able to become more

focused in my thoughts and actions (in terms of missionary work and amigos

instead of thinking about other things) and I've become a lot more focused on

others instead of on myself. I've also come to trust the Lord a lot more in all

that I do and say.

Self control: physically, spiritually, and emotionally the Lord has helped me to

master myself. I'm still not perfect, but I'm able to get up early every day,

something that was really hard for me before the mission, I'm able to work for

the entire day, I've more recently been able to quit eating sugar almost

completely, and I'm able to focus and study for hours on end.

LEARNING EXPERIENCE: MY VISION AND GOALS

My one-year vision:

Spirituality/church service -continue to progress -attend the temple regularly,

work in the temple!! -continue to study, pray, participate in church, and do as

much as I can in spanish -magnify my callings, use my resources and blessings

to bless others Relationships: -communicate regularly with family (while

traveling/cooking/cleaning -continue relationships with people from the mission

-people before technology!! Education/career: -6th or 7th semester -use time

wisely and get homework done -I can do hard things—> focus first on my

relationship with Christ, and then work diligently -budget well in order to live

experientially but also afford college life

Goals that will help me achieve my one-year vision:

-I will study daily for at least 60 min from the scriptures and words of prophets.

At least once a week I will share on social media or with someone i know

something I have learned in any given week.

I will talk to my parents, siblings, grandpa, and converts at least once a week

using technology as a tool to strengthen relationships

I will work and plan diligently in order to complete homework assignments on

time and well done.

LEARNING EXPERIENCE: CONTINUING DISCIPLESHIP

How will you continue the habit of personal prayer after your mission?

Without a doubt this has been one of the most important and influential things

I've learned on my mission... I need to pray with all my heart before sleeping

every night and repent of any and every mistake i can think of from that day. I

need to wake up and give thanks for a new day. I need to study with prayers

beforehand and afterwards so the Lord can bless me with greater retention.

How will you continue your scripture study habits after your mission?

What will I study?

I will study the book of mormon every day, and follow along with Come Follow

Me and my BYU religion classes every week. I will listen to general conference

talks on a weekly basis

When will I study?

I will study in the mornings before starting my day for at least 15 minutes (1

chapter). I will listen to general conference talks while I walk to classes or drive

to campus. I will dedicate a part of my on-campus study time to study material

from CFM and religion classes.

How long will I study?

I will study for a minimum of 30 minutes daily on days when I have classes. On

days when i don't have classes I will study for a minimum of one hour

After your mission, what kinds of activities will you participate in to

help you keep the Sabbath day holy?

I will go to church every Sunday and partake of the sacrament. I will wake up on

Sunday mornings and put on tab choir music as i get ready. I will spend the

afternoon reaching out to loved ones from my family and from my mission using

technology. I will have dinner with someone from my family and spend time

doing family history. I will end the day with a weekly planning session.

Where do you plan to attend Church meetings after your mission?

Directly after my mission, I plan to stay in the singles ward where my parents

live, but if possible also help con young women's activities with my mom. When

I move up to Provo (in january) I will be in a singles ward on BYU campus. In

both cases I plan to participate fully in all YSA activities that I can.

What are your goals for participating in temple and family history

work?

I will strive to go to the temple every week and participate in ordinances. I also

would love to be a temple worker and go as often as I can. I will also spend time

working in indexing

How will you continue to give service after your mission?

I want to help and support the Spanish missionaries in my area, serve with all

my heart in a calling and serve in the temple on a weekly basis. Within my

household and family I plan to find little opportunities to serve (do the dishes,

yard work, babysit the sobrinos, etc.) I've learned that "desarrollar un

discipulado de servicio" means look for and aprovechar every chance to serve

My plans to attend institute

Class name:

The Savior and powerful tools to navigate stresss and anxiety

Location:

St george Utah

Start date:

It started in August but supposedly I can go right away even though it's halfway

through the class

LEARNING EXPERIENCE: SELF-RELIANCE

My Plans for Education

I am planning on finishing my degree at BYU in family and consumer sciences

education. If everything goes according to plan, I should be able to graduate by

April of 2026and start working as a teacher in fall of 2026. During one of the

summers I might try and get my culinary certificate (12 week program). I will

start attending in January taking 12-15 credits.

My Plans for Employment

For a few months before going back up to Provo, I plan on working wherever i

can to earn and save for when I'm in school. While in school, I plan to work as a

TA for Dana Hunter in the foods lab or in crumbl, where I was working before

the mission. After graduating I would like to work at Park City High or at Provo

High and eventually move down to st george again

LEARNING EXPERIENCE: DATING AND TEMPLE MARRIAGE

What are my goals for dating after my mission?

My first goal is to maintain personal purity always while dating and date only

those who have the same high standards.

My second goal is to create genuine friendships with people around me in

classes and in my YSA ward, be part of a group.

I plan to date someone for at least 9 months before getting engaged.

What personal standards will guide you in dating?

Personal purity is essential for me and essential for the presence of the spirit. I

will not do anything that will take the spirit away, and I will never be alone in

private with a boy. I will strictly follow standards found in For the Strength of

Youth. I will also make sure that my dating relationship doesn't take priority

over my relationship with my family--->the relationships can co exist

LEARNING EXPERIENCE: MY PLAN

My Life's Vision

My purpose is to live happily on the covenant path through continued daily

repentance, participating in the Lord's work on both sides of the veil, dedicating

my life and agency to the will of God and maintaining my personal purity in

mind and body, and conveying and teaching all these things, together with my

love for the Savior, to my future children and grandchildren.
