08/15/22 This is Maybe a Little Too Honest 😅

Holaaaa,

I have no idea how it's possible but here I am very close to done with my training!!!!

This week was crazy and a lot of stuff happened as usual so ya know here's the wrapup haha

-Tuesday we did some good old door knocking, aaaand as usual, no one answered except this one old lady who was super católica and didn't want to talk to us ðŸ˜… así es la misión!!
We also had completos in centro and bought these really stupid looking dog stuffed animal things as prizes for our activity on Wednesday and I think that was about it, at least that was worth writing about!!

-Wednesday we had consejos and it was really good, one elder bore his testimony so strongly and the spirit filled the room... aaand then a different elder sucked the spirit out by complaining for 10 minutes ðŸ˜¬ but anyways I was feeling pretty good about life and we had this little Facebook challenge thing that went pretty well.... but then that night we got news that the schedule is changing... which yeah it has and it basically took every single free moment we had and turned it into finding time, including now we have half the time it says in the rule book for language study and also half the time for eating time. It's super frustrating and there has been a lot of contention in the zone because every time someone tries to express genuine concerns or feelings, the people in charge kinda... freak out. One elder mentioned how he thought it would be really difficult only having 1 hour for all of our time to eat and rest throughout the entire day-which is a valid concern! and the zone leaders literally were like "are you here to rest or are you here to work." and there has been a lot of splitting of who thinks one thing or another. It's been really frustrating because they ask  who has concerns or questions or whatever, and then when someone expresses themself, they get attacked or shamed for not being a good enough missionary or hard working enough or whatever. It makes me really sad because we had really good zone unity even just 3 days ago but now certain missionaries won't even talk to each other. But anyways.

-Thursday was a lot of door knocking and no one answering, talking to people in the streets and no one wanting to hear, and lessons falling through. It was just a very long first day of the new schedule.

-Friday we had intercambios!! I was with an Hermana close to the end of her mission in the other hermana sector here, so it was a lot of fun. The crazy thing is, we knocked like 5 doors and all of them answered and talked to us, we had like 4 lessons that didn't fall through, and everyone we talked to in the street actually listened. Apparently that's normal for Chile and our sector just kinda sucks sometimes. So yeah I think if I ever get transferred anywhere else I'll have a lot more success! But anyways, we also got ice cream and talked to this lady who loves to bake and wants to have me over to teach her to bake like crumbl... but I'm not in her sector so it probably won't happen.

- Saturday I ate literally sooo much pizza and breadsticks and brownies from papajohns and then in the evening we had a miracle where we all had like no cash except one hermana but then our taxi driver didn't charge us!!!

-Sunday was a good one. We had church, and I had a fire study in the morning about preparing for general conference. We visited several different abuelitas and menos activos, and we did some planning for this week.

-Monday, today, we're going on a hike pretty soon here and shopping at some point. Also p day ends a half hour earlier so that is another one of those things. But hey, it could be worse... I don't know how but I'm sure it could be lol.

Favorite spiritual thought this week: I've been reading all of president nelsons talks from when he was first called as an apostle and one of them I read talked about how we can't just have faith and expect everything to go perfectly... he talked about how he was doing a heart surgery on one of the prophets, I think Spencer w Kimball, and he asked for a blessing first... when president Nelson was done with the blessing, president Kimball said, alright now use your skills and abilities to make that blessing a reality. So the point is, we have to act on promptings, use our skills/develop our skills, and depend on others, and that's where miracles come from- not just asking and hoping. For example in my life, I'm learning Spanish, and it's hard of course, but I can't just pray for the gift of tongues and expect perfect Spanish. Of course the Lord will help me, but I need to be putting in the daily studying and other efforts in order to get the understanding and grammar that I have the potential for. So if there's a blessing you're waiting on, I invite you to take action towards making it happen.

Con mucho amor
